Displays: Just get a 4K TV?

I used the InFocus IN3138HDa projector for a while until I realized how cheap curved 4K smart TV’s like the Samsung 7000 Series with low enough lag and high enough pixel density to also be used as monitors have gotten. I used this setup for a number of years with no real issues. I ran Windows at its native resolution on it (Windows HiDPI scaling has gotten better but I’d rather not deal with it) and eventually assembled a complicated pseudo-KVM switch solution using Synergy on a local network and a Logitech Harmony.

These days though, I’ve set up something different for my Mac Pro; two 4K displays on top of each other. This allows me to have enough space to the sides of the display to place my studio monitors spaced at an equilateral triangle from my listening position. This is a huge benefit and is well-worth the trade-off in raw screen size.
